Examples of recently commissioned work has been added to this site and can be seen in our online catalogue. We aim to keep this area fairly up to date to show the breadth of our work. Most commissions combine calligraphy and illustration techniques - some also use illumination work with 23 carat gold leaf. We are happy to work with you to design and produce a piece of work to your specification and budget.
Wedding and Anniversary Commissions
We have undertaken a wide variety of commissions for special occasions, to produce a unique gift for the couple, or as a special gift for your partner. Some examples of recent commissions for wedding, civil partnerships and handfasting ceremonies are available to view in the weddings section of our commissions portfolio. Some examples of work undertaken for anniversaries and christenings are also shown.
Special Gifts
We undertake a lot of work for events such as birthdays, Christmas, Valentines day, retirements, etc. - and get asked to do work for all manner of occasions. Perhaps you have moved house and would like a special piece of artwork? We are happy to produce work to fit in with your colour scheme and interior design requirements and can produce work to very exact dimensions, or to fit a specific or unusual frame. Historic Work for Museums / Heritage Organisations
For examples of heritage work undertaken, please see Museum and Historical Work. We can complete work to very exacting standards, e.g. recreate letters and documents in very specific writing styles, complete artwork that is stylistically correct for many different historical periods, using the correct materials for that period (calfskin, oak gall ink, natural pigments such as lapis lazuli, malachite, etc.) We have recently undertaken a large commission for English Heritage and will soon be putting detailed images on this website, in the meantime
