Paper Type
Most of our stock items are produced on high quality watercolour paper. We can also produce items on artificial vellum / calfskin, which is more cream in colour and has a similar texture and appearance to the traditional animal skin that would have been used in medieval times. The ink will sit more proudly on this surface. However, you should be aware that this material will move with changes in humidity and temperature, far more than watercolour paper.
Alternatively, you may prefer us to use authentic materials, such as natural calfskin / vellum and natural pigments. If this is important to you, please contact us.
To Seal or Not to Seal?
Most items of stock have a wax seal at the bottom, bearing our design. If you have a strong preference regarding the presence of a seal, please explain this when ordering. Please note that where an item is to be produced mounted and not framed, a seal is not recommended (as it can be easily damaged, without the protection of the frame).
Variations on Text, Text Style, Colour, etc.
We are more than happy to produce for you a variation on a stock item. Please contact us with details of your request.
